Abstract
The application of geophysically oriented information bases (IB) has become a nearly mandatory part of most tasks of the professional geoscientist. The IB can be approached by different individuals simultaneously and within a longer time period in order to utilize and update the information stored and to record the progress of work. This IB can be applied for many years in an organisation as long as the tasks are kept witkin the original limits .
