An interesting discussion was triggered by the article of Ziolkowski (1991) entitled 'Why don't we measure seismic signatures". The discussion consisted of 5 letters (Ziolkowski et al, 1991), from not only convolution specialists as well from geophysicists concerned for other points. Especially Schoenberger replied to question the suggested little value of tying seismic data to a wavelet convolved with reflectivity series derived from well-logs .
