Abstract

Three-dimentional (3D) geological modelling allows to obtain more complete and accurate model in comparison with the conventional 2D seismic prospecting or gravity one . It is due to the correction of the initial model constructed using well, seismic and other geophysical methods data when the computed gravity field is iterativly approached to the observed one. For the first time the technology allowed to obtain discontinous depth models of the Pricaspian Basen and folded ore fields of Kazakhstan. A case study from the southern part of Pricaspian Basen demonstrates the technology applied to the study of the peculiarities of a salt dome structure .
