Abstract
The Chibougamau region contains mans polymetallic orebodies and has been extensively studied during the last forty years. It is located about 500 km north of Montreal, Canada. Recent work has shown that information available in this area should be compared with the various models proposed for similar volcano-sedimentary belts. The study area is at the eastern end of the Abitibi greenstone belt.
