Abstract

It is well known how difficult can be the interpretation of seismic response of a reservoir with complex geometry, movable saturating fluids and lateral variations of porosity and permeability by varying stressed state of reservoir rocks. To clarify the diagnostic potential of seismic method for such cases and elaborate a theoretical basis for an improved interpretational technique, a forward seismic problem of elastic wave scattering in a nonlinear, discontinuous, fluid saturated, initially stressed medium has been stated.
