f Multiple attenuation in areas with large contrast - a comparison

Seismic data from parts of the Norwegian continental shelf show in addition to strong multiples, also multiple diffractions caused by inhomogeneities in the seabed. These turn out to be extra problematic. Saga Petroleum has performed a comprehensive test involving several major seismic contractors in order to evaluate the different multiple and noise attenuation methods used in such problem areas. The results of this study will be presented in this paper .
