f Observations of shear-wave splitting from VSPs in the Northern North Sea

Observations of shear-wave splitting have been investigated in order to obtain a better description of the internat reservoir structure. The presented dataset, released by Statoil, consists of three-component VSPs, recorded on four deviated wells, from a production platform in the northern North Sea. For each well, VSPs were recorded for a rig source and a normal-incidente source. The rig source VSPs contain good converted shear-wave arrivals and two prestudies, made by Statoil, indicated shear-wave splitting in all four wells.
