The bottorn-cable rnethod of seismic reflection data acquisition has been used for many years in shallow water and in are as densely populated by obstacles, where towed streamer marine vessel access is rendered irnpossible or risky (Rigsby, et al, 1987). And as production and drilling platform obstacles have rnoved to deeper and deeper water, the application of the bottom-cable method has moved with them.
