Geostatistical Simulation and Flow Modeling of a Fluvial Reservoir: A Case Study

A geostatistical simulation study aimed at dynamic modeling was carried out on a fluvial sandstone reservoir. A number of realizations of the spatial distribution of the petrophysical properties of the reservoir was generated and tested in the numerical flow model on the basis of the production history of the field. The realization that gave the best agreement in the history match was selected for the forecast phase.
