Abstract

Summary

Efficient surface-consistent algorithms are required to fully benefit from ultra high density full-azimuth acquisitions. Innovative solutions for amplitude, deconvolution and residual statics have been implemented and tested on ISS® BP Risha dataset acquired in 2010–2011. High Performance Computing techniques coupled with a new class of algorithms (joint and/or stochastic inversion) allow us to properly process the whole survey in a single pass without chunking the dataset. Obvious improvements on the surface-consistent attributes and seismic images have been obtained when the densest acquisition is processed. This study confirms the benefits of ultra-high density acquisitions and the utility of more reliable surface-consistent processing resulting in better attributes and seismic analysis.
