Abstract

Systematic regional basin mapping has been carried out in SW-Hungary for some years. One of its main goals is the so Galled medium dept range (from about 100 to 500 m), primarily because of the drinkwater storage possibilities of the occurring formations. Judging from the limited information, only the presence of Pleistocene and below it Upper Pannonian formations can be expected - probably consisting of clay, rock powder and sand. Resistivity distribution studies of the rocks are important to enable conclusions to be draven on the porous formations.
