Abstract

Four vertical boreholes of 260 m depth have been drilled through five cyclical sequences of shallow-dipping sandstone, claystone and limestone formations in the Carboniferous Limestone series in northern England. Horizontal distances between pairs of boreholes range from 25 m to 95 m. The boreholes have all been logged with a comprehensive suite of geophysical tools. The object of the research project is the study of cross -hole seismic techniques for oil and gas reservoir characterization.
