Abstract
Various geological models are currently proposed to describe the internal structure of heterogeneous hydrocarbon reservoirs. Some of them are deterministic and others are based on geostatistical models. Production forecasts based on these geological models raises two essential problems: • To deal with the various possible images coming from the geostatistical models • To go from a geological representation to a gridding of the reservoir in meshes with associated averaged petrophysical parameters for the fluid flow simulator (so-called 'reservoir simulators').
