Abstract

Summary

In this study, to reduce the maximum gap azimuth and locate earthquakes more accurately, the data recorded by the seismic network stations in Saudi Arabia have been used. 115 aftershocks that were reliably located were applied to calculate the velocity structure of the crust model by one-dimensional inversion method, also P-wave velocity and thickness in the layers from depth to the surface was determined for the region crust.

One of the most common methods for visualization of earth structure is using seismic travel time tomography. In this method, the earth structure with various parameters is modelled by seismic travel times inversion (Bayram nezhad et al., 1386). In this study, based on seismic data recorded at 13 broadband and shortband seismic stations in Iran and Saudi Arabia, the appropriate velocity model for this region is determined.
