Abstract

Summary

Lineaments as indicators of faults, fractures and other local discontinues are of considerable significance in solving of wide range of applied geological problems. Lineament analysis of gravity data could be a powerful tool for regional forecast of oil and gas bearing structure due to interconnection of local structure in sedimentary cover with basement fault. Automated lineaments technique for digital data is presented. In order to avoid the subjective fault recovery interpretation new characteristic of liner elements named the linearity function is proposed. This characteristic based on the assumption than faults can be represented as extensive liner zones.
