Abstract

Summary

The paper presents the results of seismic measurements carried out on a portion of flood embankments. The aim of this work was the selection of an appropriate methodology for measurements during flood embankments investigations and determination of the proper geometry of the measurements. For the acquisition Ultra-Light GEODE and geophones 4.5 Hz, 10 Hz and 100 Hz were carried out. The obtained data were processed and analyzed using programs such as Seismic Unix, Vista Seismic Processing, SeisImager and MATLAB. Based on gained experience, the authors show how to optimize the seismic measurements with respect to a given structure, assessing the seismic method as an effective and meaningful when applied to diagnosis this type of structures.
