Abstract

Summary

This project investigates how the independent geoscience consulting firm, Rock Solid Imaging (RSI), worked with Analytics Engines to exploit advances in many core architectures for Electro Magnetic inversion with the goal of reduced run times for large scale Electro Magnetic analysis.

We will show that the Intel Xeon Phi architecture can accelerate the processing of SpMV in HPC applications. In particular when applied to the EMGEO software it can help to achieve significantly increased performance and decreased physical hardware footprint for CSEM and MT data processing applications.
