Realization of Complex Field Structural Models During Horizontal Well Placement

Abstract
When planning horizontal wells, geological and hydrodynamic 3D-models based on seismic and well log data are usually used. To build a field model with the desired level of accuracy and optimize well drilling and development geosteering and geomodeling should be integrated as they are closely interconnected. Realization of the geological model according to geosteering data in real-time provides more detailed information of the geological structure around drilling wells, and this can be acted upon while drilling. This will help to correct the planned trajectory for the well placement in the most producing interval. The field situated in Western Siberia is an example of geosteering and geomodeling integration described in this paper.
