Abstract
It is a common problem in engineering job that the condition of the subsoil and the position of the load-bearing layer should be known. This is important before starting a building activity, and also when some changes or damages occur on an existing building, works or construction. Geophysical investigations can give information in many cases on the structure and qualification of the subsurface conditions. These are the so called NDT - Non Destructive Testing - methods that are applied more and more often for providing information for the engineers saving or decreasing the costs of rather expensive excavations or boreholes. This paper shows some selected examples on such solutions.
