Abstract
The concept of the alpha-trim from mean filtering and threshold is introduced into the vector median filter (VMF) to form an alpha-trimmed vector median filter (ATVMF), which can effectively attenuate the crosstalk in the seismic data acquired by simultaneous sources. In addition to the processing window size, the ATVMF has extra parameters to control the degree of the attenuation. By adjusting the values of these parameters, e.g., alpha and the threshold, we aim to preserve the energy of the target shot as much as possible when suppressing the crosstalk from the interfering shots. The ATVMF is an extension of the VMF, and when the alpha value is set to zero, the ATVMF degenerates to the VMF. Synthetic and field data results prove the effectiveness of this method.
