Abstract

Summary

This paper, the Laplacian operator is approximated by finite-difference operators independently, which makes the frequency-space domain forward modeling more flexible. We also implement the time domain high order difference coefficients calculation method in frequency domain finite difference forward modeling. These two technologies are used to modify the existed 9-point, 15-point and 25-point finite difference scheme, and obtained the modified 9-point, 15-point and 25-point finite difference scheme. Though plotting the dispersion curve, we see that the modified 9-point nearly has the same numerical dispersion with the existed 9-point finite difference scheme, however the modified 15-point and 25-point finite difference schemes have smaller numerical dispersion than the existed ones, which means we have improved the existed finite difference methods for frequency domain forward modeling.
