Abstract

Summary

Based on several decades of model construction experience of CNPC geophysical exploration laboratory, this paper introduces the principles of seismic physical modeling briefly. The precision of physical modeling experiments has been analyzed as well, absolute errors of construction is within 3mm. Upon theoretical study, the largest and most complex KS seismic physical model, which aims to solve the problems of complex surface conditions and non-ideal imaging for complex underground structure in oil-rich foreland basin of western china, has been constructed to provide standard data for the theoretical research of complex structure. The real 3D velocity model provided by accurate 3D shape measurement technology can be regarded as basic data for testing many imaging methods. Therefore, this model can be regarded as a standard example for seismic physical modeling technology.
