On the base of the numerical study of seismic wave propagation in fluid-filled cavernous/fractured reservoir it was observed that the fluid saturation causes strong multiple scattering effects in the wavefield. The 3D simulations were done on the base of finite-difference technique with local-time space mesh refinement to match the sizes of caverns and fractures but prevent the computational intensity from extreme growth. Determination of the observed multiple scattering effect in the real data allowed mapping the zones with high fluid saturation which was confirmed by the borehole data (including core samples).
