Abstract
Field trials were carried out in one of Bashneftegeofizika crews in July, 2012. The trial works were conducted to define the dependence of field data quality on the parameters of sweep excitation and data recording. Large number of sweeps excited at the same VP allowed for variable vertical stacking from 4 to 32 sweeps. It has been shown that large number of sweeps results in attenuation of ambient noise (wind noise first of all) and increase of the signal-to-noise ratio by almost two times. At the same time, the quality and amplitudes of useful signals are practically the same in the normalized correlated records. We believe that high density of VP per sq. km is more efficient way to improve the quality of raw vibroseis data at the same source effort. This approach allows for good spatial sampling in both coordinates and better attenuation of all types of noise at the processing stage.
