Abstract

Of course, geology of coal deposits determines the basic technological cycles in the mines field. An effective control of the occurrence conditions and status of coal beds can optimize the work in mines, depending on fracturing extent and lithologic changes. That improves the efficiency and profitability of hydrocarbons production. The proposed field technique based on transmitted-wave seismic tomography [patent (RU) № 2455663] is capable of analyze the coal bed and surrounding rock structure, velocity and power parameters. The detailed seismic studies was carried out in a Kuznetsk Basin (2010-2012). The constructed seismic tomography sections can be used to separate coal bed anomalous areas with increased gas recovery or unconventional reservoirs. The most promising in this respect are the areas with high macro-structural permeability and fracture.
