There are considered main problems of training specialists in geosciences on geoinformation systems and technologies. On the basis of a system approach the scheme of process of physical-geological modeling is offered, there are noted features of transition from the automated systems of geodata processing through geographical and expert systems to geoinformation technologies and to information and analytical systems
