Abstract
208 focal mechanisms were used to calculate local stress orientation near three gas injectors in two small sectors 5 km apart, using the mean P axis orientation. Results agree with available regional stress data and with local geologic features. It is suggested that in sector 1 induced microseismicity appear in a broad set of fractures optimally aligned with the local stress criteria, while in sector 2 an amount of fractures are at the limit of the slip criteria.
