Abstract

The method is based on the refraction interferometry from two reciprocal shots[1]. Here, unlike conventional methods (e.g. GRM), the velocity of the layer is determined independent of the refractor dip[2]. Some examples using synthetic seismic data are presented to evaluate the efficiency and accuracy of the method. Due to the dip-independent velocity determination, the method remarkably distinguishes lateral velocity variation in refracting layers from interface undulation.
