Abstract

Key stages of the PreCaspian basin geodynamic evolution based on the "Wilson cycle" are considered. These stages are corresponded to the main geodynamic oil and gas generation and accummulation regimes (mostly rift and subductional ones). The spatial and temporary relationships between the particular stages of the geodynamic evolution and the processes of the hydrocarbon onthogenenis are clearly defined. Favourable combination of the results of different geodynamic evolution stages (predominantly intercontinental rift, intracontinetal rift, subduction and plate ones) is the predeterming factor of the PreCaspian basin huge hydrocarbon potential. Scientific criteria of the identifying of such relationships in terms of the other sedimentary basins as a key factor of the oil and gas-bearing capacity determination are also considered. The necessity of the further such kind of study is indicated, especially in the regards of relatively unexplored areas of the PreCaspian basin and other Kazakhstan oil and gas prospective basins.
