Abstract

The seismic inversion is known to be ambiguous, i.e. there is an infinite set of reflectivity series that agree with a seismic trace that has a certain bandwidth. We have found that the multi‐channel inversion has a unique solution, under some assumptions. The reflectivity solution and the seismic wavelet can be recovered because reflected signals have different interference in adjacent traces.
