Abstract
This paper presents a model for predicting shallow water carbonate facies in the offshore Sirt Basin. The transition between the onshore and offshore has an overall ramp geometry, cut by Cretaceous rifting, so that the offshore is deeper than the onshore. Shallow water carbonate facies are predicted to occur offshore when the onshore is non-marine to very shallow marine.
