Abstract

Detailed geochemical analysis of oils, condensates and source rocks from the Central Caspian area allows for the identification of multiple petroleum systems, some of which extend from the onshore Dagestan to onshore Mangyshlak. Most of the petroleum systems are of Mesozoic age, but they are flanked by a Tertiary PS to the south and a Paleozoic PS to the north.
