Abstract
This extended abstract presents the results of solving the global optimization problem in association with joint inversion. Apparent conductivity data obtained from electromagnetic soundings at low induction numbers for horizontal magnetic dipoles (EMHD) and Schlumberger apparent resistivity data were inverted individually and jointly. Global optimization with Monte Carlo Multistart algorithm was used in the inversion of data. The ambiguities in the model parameters associated with the target layer(s) are then studied using individual and joint inversions. This paper also presents the results of parallelization of the global optimization algorithm and its efficiency tests hold in cluster of 21 computers.
