Imaging and Mapping of Hydrocarbon Traps in Areas of Complex Salt Tectonics in Ukraine - Case Studies

Seismic data interpretation in areas of complex salt tectonics in Ukraine suffers from the shortcomings of 2D data acquisition technique and out-of-date time-domain imaging. With numerous examples from onshore Ukraine, we demonstrate how high-quality depth processing in combination with 3D seismic acquisition techniques can improve both imaging of prospective features in the vicinity of salt domes and exploration decision making.
