Abstract

In this case study we will review a workflow from post-stack seismic data estimate the quality factor Q value, and do inverse Q filter processing with the estimated Q value. We use this work to successfully to improve the resolution of the three dimensional (3D) P-P and P-SV seismic data sets in the tight-sand gas reservoir in Sichuan basin, China. As the inverse Q filtering method is built on the data driving, we can not only enhance the resolution of the P-P seismic data, but also the P-SV seismic data. According to the interpretation results, we get much higher resolution seismic section and reservoir details.
