Abstract
The complex analysis done on the offshore South Caspian Pliocene Productive Series demonstrates accumulation of quartz rich sandstones in certain stratigraphic intervals such as PostKirmaki sand, Fasila, Balakhany VIII. The modeling and factual data show that these sediments display moderate to good reservoir properties at the depth below 7 km due to overpressure, formation of secondary porosity and favorable cementation history. The best reservoir properties in the central deeply subsided part of the South Caspian basin are expected for Fasila Suite sediments.
