Abstract

In this paper the use of traditional seismic interpretation and well/core based regional evaluation are integrated with unconventional rock physics and a new techniques available in new geomodelling software. A case study illustrates how these traditional methods were able to indicate, but not confirm, the presence of a sand prone turbidite deep-water system. In this study rock-physics is shown to reduced uncertainties and the geomodelling technology provides further supporting evidence in the form of the turbidite system architectures and by illuminating the basin fill history.
