Abstract

Using qualified accelerograms of the Iranian Strong Motion Network (ISMN), ground motion prediction equations for 5%-damped elastic response spectral acceleration in the period range of 0 to 3 seconds are developed for the purpose of seismic hazard analysis. The coefficients are included to model the effects of magnitude, source-to-site distance, local site effects and faulting mechanisms on the observed ground motions. Along with comparison to other ground motion models, the validity of the proposed equations is assessed by testing their applicability and investigating the distribution of residuals against the explanatory variables.
