Abstract

The creation of the 3D geological models, especially the Base Case one, is a crucial and compulsory step along the oil and gas projects whose economics and development plans are highly dependent on. Studies carried out have shown geological heterogeneity can lead to large differences of fluid simulation results. This variability is due to the non-ergodicity of the modeling process. We present in this paper the non-ergodicity concept in terms of petroleum reservoir simulation and develop the method to manage it.
