Abstract
The importance of Vertical Seismic Profiling has been identified by both explorationist and reservoir characterizations specialists. Zero Offset VSP is usually run to provide time-depth relation and corridor stack, which are 1D type of data along and below the well. This mainly true in case of vertical well but a ZVSP survey that conducted in a deviated well could also provide a 2D image away/beneath of the well. A ZVSP survey that was conducted in a deviated well in IOOC Nowrooz oil field in Persian Gulf, provided a corridor stack along the well as well as 2D seismic image beneath the deviated part of the well. Combining and matching these data with surface seismic data enable geoscientists to detect geological events and lead to interpret 3D seismic data with high reliability.
