Abstract

This paper discusses the imaging of both primaries and multiples using dual-sensor data. The initial surface time data is obtained from wavefield separation of dual-sensor marine towed streamer data. After separation, seismic images are obtained by downward continuing the up and down going wavefields and applying appropriate imaging conditions. The depth extrapolation framework can be used to create depth images of primaries, multiples as a signal, and multiples as noise that can then be adaptively subtracted from the reflector images of the primaries and multiples. Each of these depth images is generated from the same image space shot migration framework. Subsurface offset gathers can easily be computed during imaging and then transformed to angle gathers. The gathers provide input for further offset or angle dependent processing. They also provide useful information regarding multiple noise and crosstalk.
