Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to make correlation between the seismic sequence boundaries into Kamchia basin (KB) and Western Black Sea basin (WBSB), because the both basins are close related. Actually the developed mainly offshore Bulgaria KB represents deep west-wedging branch of WBSB. The origin and location of KB are closely related with formation of Eastern Balkan thrust-folded belt (EB), which initiated during the Illyrian phase in early Middle Eocene. Further development of this basin is controlled by both: the expansion of WBSB and the rising of EB. The traced basic seismic reflections with their stratigraphic tying into sedimentary filing of Western Black Sea basin are known from large regional Italian and Russian studies of Black Sea. Recently we accomplished our detailed seismic stratigraphy interpretation for sedimentary succession of KB. The correlation between main seismic reflections and sequences in KB and WBSB shown significant similarities, but there are and some differences.
