Abstract

The aim of this work is to define the basement map of The Taubaté Basin through geostatistics using seismic, gravimetry and deep wells data. The work consisted on the interpretation of eleven seismic sections located in the central and northeast portions of the basin, getting information of basement altitude and main faults. The data increment of 79 wells added new information mainly in the region of São José dos Campos and Jacareí. The method of kriging with an external drift was applied by using seismic and well data as the main variables, while the map obtained from gravimetric data was a secondary one. The basement map obtained has a strong correlation with the main faults and a better definition was possible, in the region of São José dos Campos and in the northeast area, where the vast majority of wells are located.
