Abstract

Summary

This paper deals with using atmospheric CO2 as a medium for generation of plasma particle and capturing it into the formation by firing it at high pressure. Doing this would not only ensures CO2 entrapment into the rock but also enhances the residual oil recovery by increasing reservoir’s permeability and crude’s flow ability. After analysing the device made by Novas Energy Services, we have proposed a conceptual layout of the device as well as the methodology to execute our idea. This proposed methodology would help to bring down the concentration of CO2 from the air and yields better recovery of oil than any other conventionally used method.
