Abstract

Summary

Conventional wave extrapolation based imaging method usually consists of reconstructing source wavefields receiver wavefields, and applying imaging condition. In elastic media, when incident wave (whatever P- or S-wave) encounters the interface, the reflected P- and S-wave are generated simultaneously. In this paper, we try to image by only using vector P- and S-wave of receiver wavefields. The decoupled wave equation is applied for wavefield extrapolation and vector separation. In addition, Inner product imaging condition is employed to extract imaging values. The application to the layer model and the resampled Marmousi2 model demonstrates the effectiveness and feasibility of the presented method.
