Abstract
Fringe zones of the Lower-Middle Jurassic deposits are mapped at a depth of 1–2 km within the South Taimyr tectonic area. The formation of complex hydrocarbon traps is possible within these zones. Refinement of the geological structure and elaboration of methodical bases for the allocation of these objects are the main research objectives in this area are. A variant of seismogeological interpretation of the possible hydrocarbon traps spreading of structural-stratigraphic and channel types is considered. More than 10 large exploration targets are mapped on the basis of comprehensive analysis of the MOGT-2D materials and deep drilling. It is shown that the South Taimyr tectonic area is a new, promising and a very reasonable direction, consider significant interest to oil and gas prospecting for license holders.
