Abstract

Summary

Currently, the oil industry is experiencing a slow depletion of all reserves with the most of them accounted for hard-to-recover reserves. The challenge of the hydrocarbons recovery in the Em-Egovskaya Area involves the highly variable geological conditions and low-permeable Jurassic net-reservoirs (an average of 1 mD). Application of horizontal technology by times increases the efficiency of reserves recovery. Based on a huge potential of horizontal drilling, a drilling strategy has been developed. A quick-look interpretation of logging data was performed, the target of study is the JK reservoirs (Well Pad 74) of the Tyumen Formation in Egovskaya Area.

In this work, the authors will show the real-time account of logging data that allowed efficient steering of horizontal holes in a cross-section.

A comprehensive analysis of logging data and interval tests in Well 6246 allowed to update the distribution of net pay thicknesses based on the intersected oil-water contact.

The geological model updated based on the drilling results and adjusted well locations and design allowed to improve oil production levels in planned wells, as well as to drill four additional wells.
