Abstract

Summary

South Timbalier is a relatively mature field located in the shelf area of the Gulf of Mexico. The oil production is mostly from shallow, post-salt reservoirs and corresponding infrastructure creates high level of obstruction. To explore the potential deeper subsalt plays and to enhance the definition of existing shallow reservoirs, a full-azimuth towed-streamer survey was acquired in 2014. In this work, we discuss the acquisition, data processing, velocity model building, and imaging techniques used to deliver a high-definition subsurface image.
