Abstract

Summary

The high velocity anomaly and thickness variability of volcanic rock impair the structural map of targets reservoir beneath volcanic rocks. To overcome this problem, a set of methods are proposed to correct the structural map. Through integrated analysis of seismic attributes and geological data, the volcanic geometry and distribution are characterized. Then, dense velocity picking for the volcanic area is performed and the seismic data are reprocessed. Moreover, T0 (horizon in time domain) of the target reservoir is calibrated using seismic data and logging data. Finally, the improved structural map of the target reservoir is obtained. Using the proposed methods, the accuracy of the structural map of DongHe Sand in HD area is improved remarkably. Based on the updated structural map, some small structural traps are first discovered and verified by new wells.
