Abstract

Summary

GeoSwath multi-beam echosounder system was applied in this study. The transducer array was composed of left and right transducer plates, which form a V shape. Each transducer plate is constitutive of a transmitter plate and four receiver boards. The system is highly integrated and modular with the simple shape and the compact structure.

The study area of the fishing reef zone is 0.64 km2 and water depth of 5−10 m. Some small mound-like protrusions in the direction of the arrangement and roughly equidistant in the figure represents the artificial reef, while the other relatively flat area represents the area without artificial reefs.

The difference between the delivery material and the delivery method makes the artificial reefs generate a variety of different morphologies. Based on the morphology and distribution of reef bodies, the reef morphology is classified and described, which can be divided into three types: the mound type, the vein type and the basin type. Also, we select a series of representative samples and the corresponding starting data to calculate the volumes of the three types.
